Regina's Dragon Boat Festival is run 100% by volunteers. The Vancouver Dragon Boat Festival has recognized our Regina Festival as the "most organized and most fun of all other Canadian Festivals," and we couldn't do it without the hard work and commitment that each volunteer contributes.

Every year we need volunteers in the following areas:
Board and Executive
These individuals work throughout the year (about nine or ten months) and are involved in the planning, policy development and decision-making for the SaskPower Regina Dragon Boat Festival. They are instrumental in making contact with relevant businesses and are responsible for their budget and the volunteers in their respective areas.

Coordinators
Volunteers in these areas (in most instances) work for two or three months leading up to the Festival, and for a few weeks after the event doing any follow-up that is necessary. Each coordinator reports to a Vice President in the related area.

Other Volunteers
Up to 300 individuals are active during the actual Festival (Friday evening and all day Saturday). Individuals can work both days, or any number of hours (your choice) during the Festival. The range of volunteer work is broad, including activity in the following areas:
- OPENING CEREMONIES --- set up and take down, assist special guests, et cetera (Friday afternoon).
- TEAM FUN NIGHT --- assist Co-ordinator with games, activities and other related logistics. (Friday evening)
- AWARDS CEREMONIES --- assist Co-ordinator with trophies and other related logistics. (Saturday - early evening)
- CHILDREN'S AREA --- supervision, clean-up, et cetera. (all day Saturday).
- RACE & TEAM AREA --- 'athlete's staging' area, equipment set-up and moving, et cetera. (all day Saturday).
- FESTIVAL SITE --- set-up, maintenance, hauling chairs, tables and other supplies, garbage pick-up, et cetera. (Friday - during the day, Friday evening, all day Saturday, Saturday evening, and Sunday morning).
- OTHER --- general assistance throughout the Festival (Friday evening, all day Saturday).
